The Power of Revolution and Need for Reason

Humans are selfish, ruthless and cunning predators. This is what have made us the dominant species of this planet. Now and in recent time, because we are resilient enough to flourish across all continents, competition turns towards each other and these talents are used towards other humans where we are infinitely more challenged than when facing other animals. Peace, love and harmony sure, but when put in a corner and faced with annihilation, even the strongest pacifist will fight for his and his tribe’s survival. If he didn’t, he would be the weaker and would surely perish at the hands of someone stronger. People can only be pacifists when there is no reason to fight other humans. But even then the animal urges and instincts still linger underneath. This is what makes people greedy, petty and mean. They want to succeed over others and be the strongest they can be. Competing with these urges is cold hard reason. This is what keeps most people in check and able to control our animal legacy. Transcenders breathe through reason, not emotion. Reason fueled the ancient Greeks when they created modern society. Reason fueled the Founding Fathers when they devised the US constitution. These are the positives examples of transcenders employing the Trinity of Control and the tunes of society that I mentioned earlier. As a result, modern societies are these transcenders’ legacy to the masses. Unfortunately, when these systems are put into the hands of everyone, they will eventually corrupt and grow rotten due to the dependability of human nature mentioned alongside the tunes of society. This is when the next revolution comes around and re-starts the cycle, another Pattern of Recognition driven forward by the corrupt and self-destructive nature of our species. However, seen on the larger scale these cycles are necessary for progress, sometimes you need a clean slate and start all over. The Necessity of Crises. This is what all the major revolutions in history have done. The Growth of Christianity, The Reformation, the American, French and Russian Revolutions etc., they have all moved our societies forward in time to accommodate our new evolutionary and technological level. Again it is simply another Pattern of Recognition and cog in the Universal Clockwork. These changes have to grow slowly though, otherwise they seem too radical for their time which has also been seen in history causing many martyrs who were too much ahead of their time, especially related to religion, Jesus being one. Historically, progress has always come slowly to only erupt violently when it was no longer avoidable. But should another violent revolution really be necessary in our day and age? You would think not, yet recent events have unfortunately demonstrated that Dark Age thinking is still alive and well in certain areas and communities. In most contemporary societies however, true human nature only comes to the fore within isolated individuals or small groups. More on this persistence of human nature in the following post.
